Last week, we explored three essential workouts incorporated into your AMPT training program: Strength Training, Metabolic Conditioning (Met-Con), and Active Recovery. (Click here to read that)
This week, we're diving deeper by sharing insights and experiences from some of our current members. Their stories highlight how these workouts have positively impacted their fitness journeys.
1. Strength Training: Building a Strong Foundation
Strength training has been transformative for many of our members.
Brit shared that she loves strength training because she enjoys seeing her lifting progress week to week.
Nat added that she loves it because feeling strong and lifting heavy makes her feel like a bad a$$.
2. Metabolic Conditioning: Enhancing Cardiovascular Health for Longevity
Met-Con workouts are a favorite for those looking to boost their cardiovascular health.
Cera noted, “I feel really good after a Met-Con session, like I’ve accomplished something and am ready for the day!”
Many members also appreciate the social aspect of Met-Con workouts, enjoying the camaraderie and teamwork. They find it refreshing that, unlike strength workouts, they don’t have think as much and can just go!
3. Active Recovery: Balancing Your Fitness Routine
Active recovery is often overlooked but crucial for maintaining overall fitness.
Lori shared, “The active recovery rhythm challenges me to try harder (in strength) workouts in cooperation with others, and the appreciated distraction (with friends) is a bonus!”
Jane added, “I really enjoy the active recovery class because it feels relaxed. I don’t have to check my phone; it’s a great workout that also allows for conversation and camaraderie—a nice change from strength training. Plus, Ronni is very fun and supportive.”
Bringing It All Together
Balancing strength training, Met-Con, and active recovery not only enhances your fitness routine but also positively impacts your mental health.
Wendy highlighted this, saying, “As an older adult, I discovered that engaging in different types of workouts about five times a week significantly improves my mental health and well-being. With the support of Bryan and Roni, I can maintain my mental health while keeping my body healthy, without worrying about exercising ineffectively or unsafely.”
