Changes do not happen without intentional effort. And when it comes to planning out food, those changes can seem overwhelming. Add in the stress of family, work, social life, and all of the other demands of your time, it may seem impossible to plan and eat well intentionally.
We always want to give you the tools to feel confident and empowered, we never want to tell you what to do. So here is a tool for easing the stress of meal planning... our Meal Matrix!
This tool allows you to see what you have, see what you need and make a plan to shop efficiently and completely, while keeping your health a top priority! It has 3 steps and is really easy:
Meal Matrix: Take inventory; check your pantries, refrigerators and freezers so you know what is on hand. Write that down. Then also write down what you would eat for each category: protein, veggies, smart carbs, healthy fats. These will be used to make your meals!
Meal Plan by choosing one thing from each box to create a nutritious meal. You can use an item from each box more them once (like olive oil as your healthy fat), just note it in the next step which is your shopping list if you need extras.
Shopping List: create your list by using the meal matrix and meal plan to see what you need to buy. Also, remember to check for staples. The other day I was mid-cooking and ran out of balsamic vinegar and we were not going to the store just for that…
Check it out, print it out, share with your friends! And if you need any help, please reach out! We are all in this together. Download your copies here --- > Meal Matrix <---
